Having brought his band .Feast to national success after years of hard work, in late 2018 Baskara Putra sowed the seeds for what would become his solo project, Hindia. After numerous national Awards nominations and wins throughout the year, Hindia won his first Album of the Year title through the latest surprise release of a ‘mixtape’ called Doves, ‘25 on Blank Canvas. Released in February 2025, it expands his sonic canvas with the help of new collaborators and deeper involvement from his live backing band, Blue Valley Radio, while his lyrics remain as extremely personal as ever. With all his accolades as Hindia or as a member of two of his other bands (.Feast and Lomba Sihir), Baskara Putra remains one of the most influential, if not the most, Indonesian musician of his generation. With multiple AMI Awards wins and nominations for all three of his projects, over a billion streams, legions of die-hard fans across Southeast Asia who hang on to his every word, and a tendency for his quotes to trigger social media firestorms, don’t be surprised if there’s still much more to say about Hindia - including from Hindia himself.
