MARAPU Biography (English Version) Marapu is a band from NTT Indonesia and was formed in November 1999 in Jogjakarta. Marapu are not your usual Reggae cover band, they play authentic and original Jamaican-style Roots Reggae, and have had 4 Albums and multiple Hit Singles to date. Marapu has played shows throughout Indonesia for the past 20 years, and in the last 5 years has concerts overseas such as in Australia and other Asian countries. They have become one of the biggest reggae bands in Asia. With their new album entitled "Won't Be Fooled" which was released last April 2018, Marapu went further in the international music scene by securing a worldwide distribution & publishing contract with the French label "ASE Records". In 2019 with their latest album Marapu also received 3 nominations from the (AMB AWARDS 2019) including the nominations for: Best Band of the year 2019. Best Album of the Year 2019 with the album "Won't Be Fooled" by Marapu. Best Song of the Year 2019 with the song "Politicians" by Marapu. In 2020 Marapu handled the Australian Tour for October 2020, and the European Tour for Summer 2020 but were canceled due to the Covid19 pandemic. But Marapu doesn't stop there! On November 18, 2020 Marapu released their Hit Single and Music Video entitled "WELCOME TO SUMBA" which was made by Marapu to promote their home island of SUMBA. The song & video was a colossal and viral success throughout Indonesia. Now the pandemic is over and Marapu adventure continues...
