I'm DJ Zinc, a London based DJ and producer. I started buying records before I could afford turntables, so when I started pirate radio in 1991 I already had a decent record collection. Through pirate radio I met Bizzy B who taught me how to produce music using Octamed. I self released 8 records with my partner Swift, then made Super Sharp Shooter - a popular jungle track originally released on Hype's Ganja Records, then licensed to Sony. I rose through the ranks of DJs to be one of the top jungle/dnb DJs, then in 2000 I made a song called 138 Trek. It was just meant to go on the end of an album to show versatility, but it went top 40 in the UK and opened up a new world for me producing all kinds of dance music. Since then I've made house (including Wile Out with Ms Dynamite), breaks, UKG, jungle and dnb, and I love it all. I've been self releasing all along - I sold over a million vinyls, and since the switch to digital have done over 150million streams, and counting. I love making music and feel very grateful to be doing it for a job - long may it last :D
