Hans Williams is an independent singer-songwriter from Norwich, Vermont. First releasing music in third grade when he would hand out CDs after school, Hans fell in love with songwriting as a means of finding comfort and relief. After uploading a couple of songs on Spotify in high school, Hans quickly amassed a strong community of listeners before graduating. Fast forward to 2022, Hans' latest release "Willows" sees the free-flowing confidence Hans has developed in himself and his music.
Currently a senior studying Marketing and Music Science & Technology at Tulane, Williams continues to grow his fanbase around the historic local New Orleans scene. After recently selling out his debut headline show at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s, Hans looks to continue performing across the U.S. and gear up for his debut project in 2023.
In 2020, Hans debuted "Body on My Shoulders," reflecting on his experience as a first responder to a floormate’s suicide in the first few days of freshmen year at Tulane. The experience and subsequent guilt and fear stuck with him as he lived one room over from his nightmare. Hans commented, "writing ‘Body on My Shoulders’ has been an extremely personal and cathartic experience for me and I hope it will help others overcome tragedy."
While Hans describes most of his songs as "messages to myself," what motivates him most, he says, is the desire to make music others can deeply relate to.
