Lanae Gillette (born 5th Sep. 1997), popularly known as Lanae , is a Jamaican dancehall recording artist, singer/songwriter. The westside artist was born in the beautiful Parish of Montego Bay that's located on the westside of the island where she attended the Montego Bay High School for girls then, University of the West Indies(WJC). Lanae got her first taste of success when she placed 1st and won the title of Miss Universe Jamaica NorthWest for 2018 which allowed Lanae to compete in the regional pageant Miss Universe Jamaica. One year after the pageant (2019) Lanae decided to reside in Kingston in order to craft a career for herself in the competitive Dancehall space with the help of her manager Carlington Wilmot. She recorded her first song titled Notice which was released (Aug. 2019). She then went on to release crowd favorites such as Hi School and Chat Too Much (January 2020) a refix of Govana´s - HAMANTS Convo. The HAMANTS Convo refix had many talking about the westside artiste from which she garnered several shows one of which saw her performing alongside Jada Kingdom at Magaritaville in Montego Bay. Since her inception Lanae has worked with several notable producers such as Birchill Music, one of the listed producers on Shaggy´s multi-platinum album, Hot Shots. Good good productions (Zum), among others. Lanae has managed to release hit singles like Whine (Sept.2020), which has accumulated over 4.7 million views and Destiny which now has over 2.3 million views.
