Jarrod Lawson
Soul-Singer🎙️Songwriter🎼Multi-Instrumentalist🎹🎸Producer🎧 Ever since releasing his eponymous debut album in 2014, the Portland-based smokey voiced singer-songwriter and virtuoso pianist has been sending positive ripples around the globe with his powerful message music. Prestigious highlights extend from Rotterdam’s North Sea Jazz and the UK’s Love Supreme festivals to Java Jazz festival in Indonesia, with performances in Beijing, Melbourne and at Tokyo’s Billboard Live. His very first overseas performance was at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s Club in London. Described by the London Evening Standard as “the blue eyed soul boy of jazz”, Lawson followed his debut album with a limited edition EP “Jarrod Lawson At The BBC”, recorded at London’s historic BBC Maida Vale studios for tastemaker DJ Gilles Peterson. His second album “Be The Change” with a band which benefits from the presence of legendary Grammy-nominated percussionist Sammy Figueroa, also features a guest performance from vocalist Amber Navran. Jarrod returns with new music in 2026, starting with the R&B slow jam Next Move, co-written with French chill-hop artist Rose Noir: "“I remember sitting on my couch when I first heard the track, and I loved the vibe so much that I jumped up and grabbed my notebook to start jotting down some lyrics that I was hearing; very much non-biographical musings that randomly came to me in the moment. It was like a little gift from beyond!”
