Raj Sigdel
Born on September 19, 1982 (Asoj 3, 2039 B.S.) in Gajarkot-4, Tanahun District, Raj Sigdel is one of Nepal’s most respected and technically accomplished singers, composers, and producers. Rooted in the hills of Tanahun, Raj developed his sensitive voice listening to folk songs and bhajans. He completed his I.A. and underwent 6+ years of rigorous classical vocal training under Guru Chandi Prasad Kafle. He passed the Radio Nepal Voice Test in 2007, achieved 3rd position in the All Nepal Music Competition (2010), won Best Ghazal Award (2012), and received the National Best Male Adhunik Singer Award (2025-26) for “Afno Bato”. Known for his warm tenor voice, emotional depth (Karuna Ras), and classical mastery, Raj has delivered timeless songs across adhunik, ghazal, and modern folk genres. Popular tracks include “U Jitera Gai Ya Harera Gai”, “Aama”, “Hisab Kitab”, “Dherai Din Dekhi”, “Yo Mutu Ko Kasam”, “Aafno Bato”, “Samjhera Pyaara Timro”, and many more. He operates a professional Media Production House in Chuchepati, Kathmandu, offering high-quality recording, mixing, and music videos. A favorite among the Nepali diaspora, he performs live in the UK, Australia, USA, and beyond.
