Snap! is a German Eurodance group that was formed in 1989 by the music producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti. The group has undergone several line-up changes over the years. Their most popular hits include The Power and Rhythm Is a Dancer, both of which achieved number one status in multiple countries.
In May 1990, they released their debut album, World Power, which quickly garnered international acclaim. It reached number four on the Austrian and Swiss charts, number seven in Germany, number ten in the UK, and number thirty in the US. The album achieved platinum status in Switzerland and Germany and gold certifications in Austria, Australia, the UK, the US, and Sweden. Following this success, their second single, Ooops Up, topped international charts and sold over 500,000 copies in the US, earning gold certification in the process. Other notable hits from the group include Mary Had a Little Boy and Cult of Snap.
They continued their discography with studio albums such as The Madman's Return (1992), which peaked at number three in Germany and Austria, and number eight in the UK. This album secured gold certifications in Germany, the UK, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. They later released Welcome to Tomorrow in 1994. The group has also released several compilation albums, including Snap! Attack: The Best of Snap! (1996) and The Cult of Snap! (2003).
