Kent was inspired by independent-thinking music stars like the Randy Rogers Band, Turnpike Troubadours, and Willie Nelson. He began touring with a Western Swing group at a young age, gaining valuable experience on the road. An encounter with Willie Nelson on stage inspired him to start writing songs and move to Tennessee at 17 for music. He scored a publishing deal, later dropped, which led him to Texas for a better work-life balance. Working for a paving company during this time, he gained a new perspective on the blue-collar life he wrote songs about. Kent recorded the viral hit "Wild as Her," which propelled him to national and international recognition. Corey Kent's approach to music is authentic and passionate. Collaborating with producers Jay Joyce and Chris Farren, Kent's music reflects his journey, resilience, and optimism, blending Red Dirt and Music City influences with a Texas/Oklahoma experience.To Corey, life is about creating unforgettable experiences and taking risks that feed the soul.
