Bea Miller wanted to make more than love songs. With her new EP elated!, the New Jersey-born singer sought to make her most honest body of work yet -- getting personal, political and remaining as ferocious as ever. elated! has been in the works for more than two years.
While much of Miller’s previous work featured a handful of love/love-gone-wrong-based songs, elated! -- the first project since her 2018 sophomore album aurora -- was an opportunity for the singer to address more pressing issues and use her platform to be more raw and honest about the details of her personal life.
At only 21, Miller has garnered more than 1.7 billion streams to date. Her previous projects include aurora (2018) and the gold-selling single “like that”; three EPs released throughout 2017; and her 2015 debut album, which charted top 10 on the Billboard 200 and featured two gold-selling hit singles. Miller has collaborated with NOTD on “I WANNA KNOW,” (amassing over 239 million global streams on Spotify and nearly 20 million video views to date), and Jeremy Zucker on “comethru.” Last year, she also teamed up with Jessie Reyez on “FEELS LIKE HOME,” 6lack on “it’s not u it’s me” and UK duo Snakehips’ on “NEVER GONNA LIKE YOU.” Bea wrapped up the year with a second successful headline tour, “sunsets in outerspace,” which not only hit venue across North American but took her to Europe, making stops in London, Paris, Amerstdam, and Berlin.
