Deca OTA, Or simply Deca, Is a rap artist operating out of North West London, notably regarded as one of the Founding members of UK rap collective Free Imprint. He began making music in late 2021, Still fresh-faced, and still looking for a place in an ever-changing musical climate, this inspired him to reinvent and adapt his sound, into the chilled, electronic notes of his most recent work, with songs like and peeling back the inner workings of his musical inspiration, slowly carving him a dedicated support base, enamored with his ability to string together verses that are both concise & introspective. Juxtaposing conscious lyricism with the mellow production elements of composers such as DOTT, Bert Copsey & Tyrone Foster, to name a few of the masterminds behind the production of Deca’s recent discography. When looking at Deca's body of work with an unbiased lens, you are met with a sound that's unpredictable, ever-changing, and adaptive, musical success was never the focal point of his aspirations. When speaking with "The Word Is Bond" magazine, Deca stated that his music was a reflective insight into the daily grinds and struggles he faced growing up in his borough, all whilst it being executed over the thumping baselines and warm pads synonymous with jazz production, this expressive display in itself shows why Deca is way more than your average underground artist, and the best is only yet to come for the Barnet Kid.
