New Zealand artist Laurence Larson, Luo Yi Heng（罗艺恒) discovered his passion for the Chinese language, music, and culture during his high school years. In 2013, while pursuing a degree in pop music and Chinese at Auckland University, he began sharing remixes and bilingual covers of Mando-pop songs online. Within a year, his videos went viral on China’s social media platforms, opening doors to performances on popular shows such as 中国好歌曲(Sing My Song) and 梦想的声音 (Sound of My Dream), which launched his bilingual music career. Over the past nine years, Laurence has been living and working across Asia, collaborating with talented musicians and writing songs that reflect his diverse influences. As an independent artist, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the C-pop scene. Drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese culture and instruments, Laurence seamlessly blends these elements with R&B melodies, crafting a distinctive and captivating musical style. He continues to release music regularly in both English and Chinese, showcasing his versatility and passion for connecting with audiences across cultures.
