Sam Akins
Sam Akins is a singer-songwriter heavily influenced by Gospel, Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop and Musical theatre. His exposure to different kinds of music has shaped and influenced his sound. His musical journey began at the age of 10 singing in the choir due to a shortage of soprano singers. He wrote his first song at the age of 12 but it wasn’t until later in college that his interest in songwriting grew. He was crowned grand champion for his song “Backwards”, winning best song and best interpretation in the annual valentine songwriting competition at Silliman University in 2019. Sam Akins made his solo debut in November 2020 with a Holiday Single titled “Alone for Christmas” ,he has since released multiple singles like “Peel”, “Me for myself” and featured on a track titled “I need you now” with Kyle Juliano which was co-written and produced by Sam. Aside from his solo career, Sam spends time penning lyrics and producing music for other artists in the industry.
