Rival
The Germanic maestro Valentin Rieff - known professionally as Rival - is one of Europe’s more exploratory and inspiring creatives. As a seasoned pianist and composer with a background in both jazz and classical, Rival’s detailed works elevate bass music to a whole new echelon which has led to many significant strides early on in his career that started in 2017. Ever evolving, Rival’s catalog continues to grow as he masters new skills and techniques that keep his music both fresh and atypical. From implementing orchestras into his work, to conquering distinctive genres, Rival leaves no stone unturned when delivering dynamic records that perpetually push where electronic music can go, which has resulted in 1.4 million monthly Spotify listeners. Labels like Monstercat, Insomniac and NCS have backed his records including his hit “Control” that was a turning point in his career allowing him to do music full time. With such raw talent and a curious creative edge, Rival has become a catalyst for other like minded creators and fans who have joined his community, most notably on Youtube with over 110k subscribers and his Discord server “Rival and Friends.” This has been proven with recent releases such as “Control” surpassing 1m streams in its first month on Spotify and “Thinking About You” a self-release placed on New Music Friday in 18 countries, Rival has made significant strides early in his career.
