Ashanthi De Alwis
Ashanthi is a popular singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer from Sri Lanka, known as the "Queen of Sri Lankan Hip Hop Music." She has released three best-selling albums in Sinhalese and is the only artist in Sri Lanka signed to Universal Music. Ashanthi has won numerous awards both locally and internationally, including the Bite My Music Global Awards and the IndieGo Music Awards Asia. She has also released an international crossover album titled "Rock the World," which features collaborations with international artists and was self-produced at her recording studio. The album has a distinctive urban sound with a mix of soulful R&B and dance beats. Ashanthi is breaking barriers in the international music industry and is compared to artists like Mariah Carey, Rihanna, and Pink. She aims to change the mindset about contemporary pop music from Asia and prove that Asian music can be on par with any mainstream global act.
