Rad Dixon
Before production on his first album began, singer Rad Dixon was determined to show his versatility on the project. Titled "Hard Times", it was released in January by Tasjay Productions, which also produced the 10-song set. DIXONJ Singer Rad Dixon It is a blend of message songs, ballads and collaborations which has been the hallmark of the Rastafarian artist's career. "When we write and sing, it comes from the heart. You can hear it in the songs, and we are pleased with how things came out, " said Dixon. Times Are Hard, the lead single, is a collaboration with Luciano. Right Portion (with Talee), True Love, Mama’s Love, On And On and Tuff Life are some of the other cuts from Hard Times. Dixon has recorded several songs that have been well-received in South Florida and Toronto including Baby Don’t do It and Make it Right. Dixon, who lives in South Florida, is originally from Manchester parish in central Jamaica, which has produced numerous reggae stalwarts such as Ernie Ranglin, Garnet Silk and Luciano. Manchester is where his recording career started in 2000 as R Rated. Dixon has released a number of songs, most of them produced by the Toronto-based Tasjay Productions. In 2022, Dixon's EP, DJ Treasure Music Presents Best Reggae Lovers Rock Covers, was released. It contains reggae-flavored versions of Kenny Rogers’ Write Your Name and Suddenly, originally done by Billy Ocean.
