Born in Germany and raised travelling between Nigeria, Spain and the UK, Odeal is a multi-genre artist whose music stands out for its cross-pollinate sounds and blend of R&B, Alté and Afro. Growing up in different countries and soaking in the sounds of different music cultures is what led him to create his own unique style, moulding him into the pioneer of the Alté music scene in the UK. Odeal’s music stays authentic to the genres it originates from and his personality; mellow R&B melodies and the pulsating rhythms of Nigerian music are combined with vulnerable and introspective narratives that depict his innermost and emotional side. Odeal’s multi-faceted background is also reflected in his vocal inflexion and execution, which is heavily influenced by the different accents he plays with and set him apart from the rest, making his vocals extremely distinctive and recognisable.
During his career, Odeal showed dedication to supporting underrepresented communities through music when he released ‘More Life’, a single inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement which opens up conversations about respecting and preserving Black culture and heritage. He also founded OVMBR, a collective of passionate individuals operating across event production, creative direction, music management and fashion, who share the same values and vision to give back to communities and create unique moments that revolve around the love for music.
