Luis Rafael Valdez Vargas, known as Luis Vargas, was born in the municipality of Santa Maria, Montecristi, Dominican Republic. From his mother, “El bachatero del pueblo”, as he is also known, took the surname that he uses in his stage name. The Dominican singer, guitarist and composer. «The Supreme King of Bachata«, is one of the main exponents of this genre. He is also one of the first bachateros to achieve great success and the main founder of modern bachata.
