Michelle Fragoso
Michelle Fragoso is an accomplished pianist, producer, and composer whose career spans Latin music, jazz, and world fusion. He began his professional journey in Miami as the pianist for Café Nostalgia under the direction of Omar Hernández, as well as with Conjunto Progreso. He later produced Cubiche, an album that brought together exceptional musicians under the musical direction of Descemer Bueno. In 2005, Michelle founded his own project, Buya, a group through which he continues to blend world music with Cuban rhythms and Latin fusion. Over the years, Buya has featured and collaborated with a distinguished roster of artists and composers, including Omar Alfano (Son by Four), Andrés Cabas, Ricky Martin, Chayanne, Luis Enrique, Pavel Núñez, Cristian Castro, and Pancho Céspedes. His work has also intersected with renowned producers such as Emilio Estefan and Desmond Child. Within the jazz world, Michelle has collaborated with some of the genre’s most respected figures, including Horacio “El Negro” Hernández, Arturo Sandoval, Chucho Valdés, José Gola, Giovanni Hidalgo, and Changuito, among many other celebrated musicians. His career reflects a consistent commitment to musical excellence, cultural fusion, and artistic collaboration across genres and generations.
