Layto was born and raised in Boston and moved to Cape Cod. Being the youngest of four, and in the midst a lot of family turmoil and dysfunction, music became an escape for him. “Music became a a form of catharsis for me. It has always felt right to me, to be penning lyrics and melodies. It was until Layto got a little older, and after working a series of lousy jobs, he took it upon himself to really take a crack at releasing his music. “I was picking up trash in supermarket parking lots, and it really hit me one day, it was like twenty degrees, and snowing. I just sat down on a wood pallet behind Stop and Shop and wrote down my plan. Somehow, it’s been coming to fruition and a few years later, he we are”
Layto released a couple of independent releases shortly after, and then dropped ‘Little Poor Me’ “The song really took off quickly, I had no idea that was going to happen”. As of today, LPM has over 40 million streams worldwide.
Layto has an intensity about his style, and delivery and with his blending of alt rock pop, and hip hop, he has been qualified as as a cross between Imagine Dragons and Post Malone. His music have given a voice to the millions who suffer from anxiety and/or depression.
