Taking a decade-long break was the need of the hour for musician Rishabh Tandon. Soon after the release of his album ‘Phir Se Wahi’ in 2010, he had to return home to take care of his family, but the artiste within him persisted. During his time away from art, he utilised the opportunity for introspection, self-discovery, and self-realisation. He says, “My music career had just begun when I took a break to manage my father’s business. Although I returned in 2020, it took another four years for me to start composing songs.” His comeback music composition depicts his love life and marriage to Russian national Oleysa Nedobegova, documented through a series of music videos titled ‘Ishq Faqeerana’. Recalling how he met Oleysa, he says, “She worked as the line producer for my digital series in Uzbekistan. Though we never spoke during the shoots, we coincidentally met again a day before I was leaving from Uzbekistan. Something just clicked and I liked her so much that I directly proposed marriage to her. After a few hours, she responded with a yes. I felt like the luckiest person. I met Oleysa in October 2022, and we tied the knot on my father’s birthday – January 7, 2023. It was a case of ‘chat mangni pat byah’ (smiles).
