Over more than two decades, Andrew Spraggon has honed a vibrant collision of electronic, R&B, funk and soul, guided by hip-hop’s sense of rhythm and texture and infused with dance music energy. As Sola Rosa, his sound is both timeless and forward-thinking, earning a loyal global following, collaborations with Tall Black Guy, Hermitude and DJ Vadim, and over 65 million streams across DSPs. Since winning Best Electronic Release for his debut Solarized at the 2001 New Zealand Music Awards, Spraggon has built a career defined by creativity and collaboration. He has performed at major festivals including Secret Garden Party, Green Man, Shambala, WOMAD and Big Day Out, taking his sound from Aotearoa to stages across New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and Berlin. Recent singles “Jupiter” (feat. Iva Lamkum) and “What You Need” (feat. Blush’ko) showcase a continued evolution — from shimmering, uplifting soul to darker, late-night textures — leading into a full-length album due April 2026. Praised by MOJO, Rolling Stone, the NZ Herald and the Sydney Morning Herald, Spraggon remains one of New Zealand’s most consistent and imaginative modern producers.
