Like a modern-day Cinderella story, Malu went from immigrating to America from Spain and enduring bullying for a thick accent and skinny frame to entertaining millions around the globe in under two years’ time. Born in Cuba and raised in Madrid, she discovered music via Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. She lit up Musical.ly with a string of viral videos, garnering millions of followers. On Instagram, she attracted an audience of 7 million to date, posting singing videos that often went viral. In 2017, she made her formal debut with “Luna Llena.” The song went Top 30 on the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart, clocked 50 million-plus views, and achieved RIAA Latin Platinum status. This would be the first of several singles that saw her continue to generate millions of views and turn into a live force with concerts around the globe. She also featured on HRVY’s “Hasta Luego,” which generated upwards of 50 million streams. Along the way, her music attracted a diehard fanbase. She turned up the heat on her 2018 single and first for BMG “Nadie Como Yo” with Gente de Zona. Joined by the Cuban reggaeton superstars, she delivers a bold and bright bilingual single that’s as high-energy as it is hook-y. Malu's current single "Freeka" sizzles its way into pop culture as a retail therapy anthem.
