Scor is a multilingual rapper from Germany who is known in China for his Chinese rap, sometimes mixed with German and English.
When he was 10 years old, he fell in love with rap music. At 13, he started to write his own songs. Shortly after graduating from high school, he had already produced three German rap records, some even including French tracks. Being a language lover and a fan of French rap, he went to live in Paris for a year.
In 2013, after having learnt Mandarin Chinese for only a year, the 23 year-old Scor listened to his first Chinese rap. Chinese rap during that time made him think of German underground rap from 10 years prior – authentic and real. It almost felt nostalgic.
After having lived in China for years, he naturally also started to write lyrics in Chinese. It felt like the perfect combination of his two biggest hobbies: Learning Chinese and Rapping.
In 2020, his diss track “Fortune Code” (Chinese: 财富密码) went viral all over Chinese social media. This brought a lot of attention and also a lot of respect from the Chinese hip-hop scene. It also got him invited to 2020’s most viral rap casting show “Rap for Youth” (Chinese: 说唱新世代) as the only foreign contestant. Every Episode has been viewed by an audience of several hundred million.
