Jim Jones, born Joseph Guillermo Jones II on July 15, 1976, is an American rapper, record executive, and entrepreneur known for his impact on hip-hop culture. As a founding member of The Diplomats (Dipset), he helped define the group's signature sound alongside Cam’ron and Juelz Santana. Jones launched his solo career with On My Way to Church (2004), followed by Harlem: Diary of a Summer (2005) and Hustler’s P.O.M.E. (2006), which featured his biggest hit, We Fly High. The song’s iconic “Ballin’” ad-lib became a cultural phenomenon. Beyond music, Jones has made his mark as an executive and trendsetter, serving as an A&R at Warner Music Group and collaborating with industry heavyweights like Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and The Game. He’s also ventured into fashion, co-founding the Vampire Life brand, and expanded his reach through television, starring in Love & Hip Hop: New York. With over two decades in the industry, Jim Jones remains a vital force in hip-hop, continually evolving as an artist and entrepreneur while shaping culture with his music, business ventures, and influence.
