Strei is a Nigerian artist from Ughelli South, Delta State, pioneering Afromood, a genre blending Afrobeats rhythms with mood-driven storytelling. He began his journey in his local choir and later started recording covers on his phone using BandLab. His early clips went viral on TikTok, earning him recognition for his raw, emotive vocals. In 2025, he signed with KTIZO WRLD Records, officially launching his professional career. He went on to release his debut EP I.T.A.M (Introduction to Afromood), followed by standout singles like “Imagine” and “Blessing,” and a collaboration with Babyboy AV on “Crazily,” which further established his sonic identity. In 2026, Strei expanded his sound with “Catapult” featuring Dxtiny, followed by “Anxiety,” a defining single introducing the emotional direction of his forthcoming EP Night. The project Night, set for release on May 1, 2026, continues his exploration of vulnerable, mood-driven storytelling within Afromood. With a distinctive voice and an evolving sound rooted in authenticity, Strei is shaping the next generation of Nigerian music.
