The Temper Trap’s 2009 debut Conditions was a runaway success. Propelled by the omnipresence of a song called ‘Sweet Disposition’, the album sold nearly a million copies worldwide. The Melbourne four-piece made a breakthrough at odds with the flash-in-the-pan nature of rock’s revolving door, resulting in widespread international acclaim, sold-out tours the world over and a bevy of accolades from ARIA Awards to Brit nominations. ‘Sweet Disposition’ may have been their not-so-secret weapon, but they backed it up with an album of nuanced epic-pop perfection, helmed by legendary producer, Jim Abbiss. Locally, Conditions peaked at #9 on the ARIA Albums Chart and saw the band nominated for four ARIA Awards in 2009 and another four in 2010, two of which they took home (Best Group and Most Popular Australian Single for ‘Sweet Disposition’).
The band followed up Conditions with their self-titled offering in 2012. The Temper Trap capitalised on the success of its predecessor, with singles ‘Trembling Hands’ and ‘Need Your Love’ keeping the band well on the radar both locally and internationally. The album debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and won The Temper Trap awards for Best Group and Best Rock Album at the 2012 ARIA Awards.
The Temper Trap have announce their 3rd album "Thick As Thieves" which will be released June 10th
