Dj, 3 x Platinum producer and sound engineer.
Bassi Maestro’s love for collecting and spinning vinyl goes back to the early 80’s when he got himself some of the first Modern Soul/Boogie and Hip Hop 12” imports from the US and UK. He then started rhyming and producing his own beats in the early 90s and quickly became known as one of the most prolific rap cats of the last 2 decades.
Since then he released more than 10 official solo albums and worked with some of the finest underground and mainstream national acts. In the meantime Bassi kept djing and producing, releasing mixtapes and rockin both Disco clubs and Underground Hip Hop gigs.
He hosted shows for Cypress Hill, Questlove, MOP, CNN, De La Soul, The Roots, Nicki Minaj, Nas and many more and also produced international joints for the likes of MOP, Jim Jones, LLoyd Banks, Busta Rhymes, Joell Ortiz, Ag (DITC), The Beatnuts, Rakim, Coolio, Talib Kweli and Grand Daddy I.U to name a few.
He'd also been officially djing for The Beatnuts, Jeru The Damaja and Marco Polo and performing in many top clubs including Berlin’s Cassiopeia and NYC's Sutra and Bowery Electric where Bassi spun for the 45 only “Mobile Mondays” event.
In 2019 Bassi quit his rapping career to focus strictly on studio productions and dj sets, also promoting his new project NORTH OF LORETO, based on Bassi's passion for the 80s electro-funk and house sound. He’s been producing since then for many artists including GUE ("Madreperla"), Coez and Frah Quintale.
