Pabalu Wijegoonawardane

A composer, director, performing artist and a metaphysicist, constantly creating, and evolving, Pabalu Wijegoonawardane is an extraordinarily talented musician who has captured the attention of audiences locally and internationally. Pabalu is a founder member of the fusion band Thriloka which launched their debut music album Bisura- Realm of Higher Listening at Barefoot, 27th August 2007 and Nirmanarathiya in 2010 as the second production of his band. Pabalu also produced an audio CDs based on the therapeutic aspect of Music to relax and heal people’s mind and body called 'Sounds of The Silent Odyssey'. His skills and talent have served him well as the director, choreographer and the composer for the dance dramas "Ravana Hatana"(2015) and Maha Rāvana: The Rising Sun of a Dying Realm” (2008); and dance drama Iris (2004). Pabalu’s skills have seen him perform at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh (2009) Pabalu has worked as the music director in the film "Suparna"(2020). He has composed over 20 songs produced by Ravana Brothers; a well known independent history research group in Sri Lanka. Pabalu received the 2010 Fulbright Award as a Visiting Scholar to conduct a research with the affiliation at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He received his Bachelor in Metaphysical Sciences, B.Msc. at University of Metaphysical Sciences, California, USA (2013) and M.A. in Festive Arts at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick, Ireland (2018/2019).
