**Julio Mena – The Melody Monster** Julio Mena, affectionately known as "The Melody Monster," is a vocalist and composer hailing from Hartford, Connecticut. Growing up in a vibrant Latino and Black community, he was immersed in diverse musical genres from an early age. His passion for music ignited at age 11 when he witnessed his mother's joy watching his older brother perform, inspiring him to pursue singing to make her proud. In the mid-1990s, Julio began his musical journey, gaining his first studio experience under the mentorship of Javi Ayala and Willie Valentin at Artistik Recordings. There, he honed his skills in music production and developed a distinctive blend of Latin Freestyle, R&B, and Urban Pop. His versatility led him to join the R&B group Facade, where he performed at notable venues like Madison Square Garden and MTV's The Cutting Room. He also received vocal training from renowned coach Craig Derry, known for working with artists like Mya and D'Angelo. Julio's music seamlessly fuses genres, characterized by his smooth vocals and dynamic performances.
