Growing up in Bull Bay has a lot to do with my personal development which is directly seen, heard and expressed in my music. Bull Bay is considered to be country/rural from this I have pulled my "Roots" ; the history of my matriarchal lineage. I was able to interact a lot with nature and grew to appreciate the naked consciousness in life which influences my concern on matters of the foundation or roots. The Rude is also stemming from this upbringing as Bull Bay was still close enough to town to be impacted by street culture. The Rude element of Rude Girl Roots speaks to the streets which Yeza relates to and draws inspiration from. Rude Girl Roots thus expresses itself a cocktail that is moving, meaningful, sensual, sexy, and militant.
