The self-acclaimed Mayor of Johannesburg received his recognition in 2015 as a result of his debut Ep DIY, released in 2014, although he has experience prior to 2015. In 2025, he will mark 10 years as mainstream South African artist and now, with the help of Empire, an international artist as well . He plans to shut all critics and non-believers up with his latest project DIY3. As always, Emtee plans to inspire, encourage and motivate his supporters through impactful lyrics. A father, a son, a pioneer of his own sound ATM which stands for African Trap Movement, which he started with his main producer Ruff, Sjava and Saudi in late 2013. Some call him the GOAT, Larry Bird, because he never misses when it comes to making hits. Emtee was born and raised in the streets of Johannesburg in the early 90's. DIY2 was released in 2017 by his former label, to critical acclaim. He went independent in 2019, starting his own label, Emtee Records. He is the CEO of his record label where he gives upcoming artists a platform, signing them to his record label. He plans to make a big announcement to introduce his new artists. DIY3, his latest project, is doing exceptionally well.
