Jhazahra
Jhazahra is a Jamaican Reggae/Dancehall singer and songwriter. Often referred to as ‘blessed princess’, Jhazahra has been making an impact with her unique sound of 'Hardcore Reggae' refusing to be placed in a box when it comes to her delivery. Using inspiration from Roots Reggae, Dub and Dancehall, she merges them together to create her own concepts & sounds. Though she had many musical influences around her as a child, she yearned to become a medical surgeon & set her mind to pursue the sciences. Jhazahra’s interest to pursue music professionally began as a freshman attending the University of The West Indies (UWI) at the age of 19 years old. Her interest in medicine diminished & she quickly discovered her love for music within the 1st semester of attending college.
Her musical journey was then initiated as she began writing songs, singing and later learnt how to deejay/rap. Jhazahra is currently creating waves in the Reggae space both on the local scene in Jamaica and internationally, especially in the UK and African Diaspora.
