OKENNETH is a founding voice of Ghana’s Asakaa (drill) movement, known for his raw lyricism, deep-toned delivery, and introspective storytelling. Emerging from Kumasi’s underground scene in 2016, he broke through in 2020 with standout verses on the viral anthems “Akatafo” and “Sore”, helping take Ghanaian drill to the global stage.
In late 2020, he teamed up with Reggie to release “Straight Outta Kumerica”, a gritty tape that captured the pulse of the streets and introduced a new sound rooted in local identity. He followed in 2021 with “Until It’s All Said and Done”, his solo debut — a deeply personal, lyrical album exploring pain, loyalty, and survival. A sequel with Reggie, “Straight Outta Kumerica II” (2022), showcased his evolution, blending drill with new sonic directions.
OKENNETH continues to shape the sound and vision of Ghanaian rap. Balancing emotional depth with street grit, he stands at the forefront of a genre and generation, pushing Asakaa forward while staying rooted in Kumasi’s truth.
