Pau Figueres
Phenomenal guitarist born in Barcelona in 1989, his mastery of all musical languages and a proverbial good taste turn his guitar into a fascinating instrument that expresses itself with the ease of a living being. His music, with the flamenco guitar as the undisputed protagonist, goes beyond this genre thanks to an ingenious concept of form, harmony and rhythm, the result of a brilliant mixture of this art with the music of our century. He’s highly praised as a producer and collaborator. He’s currently on tour with the highly acclaimed portuguese artist MARO, with whom he recorded the album “Hortelã” (Secca/Sony, 2023) as a member of the MARO Trio, alongside herself and guitarist Darío Barroso. He toured the world extensively with multi Grammy award-winning Spanish artist Alejandro Sanz from 2019 to 2022, and throughout his career his guitar has been sought after by an amazing array of world-class artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Mayte Martín, Carles Benavent, Hayley Reardon, C.Tangana, Judit Neddermann, Alfonso de Vilallonga or Juan de la Rubia. His debut album “Pau Figueres” (Whatabout Music, 2015) was highly praised by critics and listeners alike, winning the Enderrock Prize for Best Folk Album 2016. In 2018 he publishes “Nada Nuevo Bajo El Sol” (Satélite K), which consolidates him as a composer and where he shines as an excellent instrumentalist. In “LATIDO” (Satélite K, 2024), he masterfully puts together tradition and innovation.
