Erick Nathan, better known as DEADVENNUS, is a music producer and artist from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, recognized as a leading figure in the aggressive phonk scene. With over 1 million streams on Spotify and more than 6 million views on YouTube, he has cultivated a dedicated following and established himself as a major influence in the genre. Influenced by rock, indie, and hip-hop, DEADVENNUS began his musical journey at the age of 14 in 2020, initially as a trap beatmaker. His breakout release, Break The Limit, made a significant impact, leading him to pursue a career crafting dark, lo-fi, and aggressive phonk tracks. Over time, DEADVENNUS has become one of the most influential figures in the phonk scene, continuously evolving and pushing the boundaries of his sound while staying true to his authenticity. His main influences include Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, Gorillaz, XXXTentacion, Skrillex, Galantis, and Alan Walker. In an interview, he explained the meaning behind the name DEADVENNUS, describing it as deeply symbolic. In his own words: "The 'death' in my name isn’t meant in a dark or ominous way, but rather as a symbol of rebirth. Meanwhile, 'Venus' represents love and light, as it is a bright and luminous planet. Together, the name signifies something like 'One who was reborn from the light' or 'One who was reborn from love.'"
