For reasons related to the brain’s love of speed and the straightforward pleasure of an open road, music just sounds better in the car. These behind the wheel moments are what Drove wants their music not only to soundtrack, but to emulate.
Released by Martin Garrix’s STMPD Records, their 2021 debut EP’s 'Dusk' and 'Dawn' included the Dillon Francis collaboration “Places,” which has to date been streamed nearly nine million times on Spotify alone. Drove has since played some of the dance scene’s most prestigious stages, including Tomorrowland in Belgium, Creamfields in the U.K., a New Year’s Eve set in Goa, India and Ibiza’s club mecca Ushuaïa.
Following their latest release Take Me Somewhere, Salomons and Wouters felt it was time to return to their origins. "The idea was to create music that reflects who we are and where we come from, so naturally, we had to take a road trip back to our hometown," says Salomons. These sessions would ultimately lay the foundation for their new EP A Moment In Time. "Nothing lasts forever, but with this EP, we aimed to capture those fleeting moments and make them feel timeless. It’s that stunning view, that awareness of a memory in the making—something you want to hold onto forever," adds Wouters. Featuring collaborations with longtime partner Dillon Francis, as well as Lilly Ahlberg and Boo Seeka, A Moment In Time will be released on October 11th through Kygo's Palm Tree Records.
