The People's Thieves
The People's Thieves is an alternative-indie-pop-rock band out of Salt Lake City, Utah. They independently released their first record, "Voices", in 2017, and released their second independent record, “Tunnels” in 2021; peaking at #7 on the iTunes alternative chart and #45 overall. The band is made up of cousins Jackson and Dallan Turnbull as co-leads, and Brent Richards performing on the drums. Jackson and Dallan decided to start the band after writing their first song together at the end of 2014. Brent joined when Jackson spotted him on the treadmill at the gym, air-drumming as he ran, and made an immediate connection with him based on a band tattoo of Brent’s that he recognized. Their music is primarily focused on their experiences with depression and anxiety. They hope that by sharing their experiences and music, they may help others in their own battles with mental health. The People’s Thieves have amassed over 80 million streams across all platforms.
