I’m Jah Born, a music producer from Dallas, Texas, with roots Brooklyn, New York. I’ve been blessed to leave my mark on the neo-soul world, through my work on Erykah Badu’s *Baduizm*. Producing “On and On” was a game-changer — it took that album to the top and brought home two Grammys in ’98 for Best R&B Album and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. That project crowned her the “Queen of Neo-Soul”..and it put Dallas on the map as a hotbed for real musical talent. Music’s been in my blood since day one. starting at 13, learning the ropes fromDJ Baby G. My sound is a mix of R&B, soul, hip-hop, jazz fusion, and funk—eclectic and raw.. Beyond *Baduizm*, I’ve collaborated with incredible artists, keeping my creative fire. I’m a part of the Dallas scene, with RC & The Gritz as the drum machinist—yeah, we even hyped up the Dallas Mavericks during their 2010-2011 championship run. Then there’s The Cannabinoids, an electro-experimental hip-hop crew I helped kick off with Erykah. We’ve taken our sound across North America and Japan. And let’s not forget Tha Beatitudes, my hip-hop band that I founded—we had the honor of backing Wu-Tang’s RZA live from 2016 to 2018. These days, i'm teaching production at Keep Spinning DJ Academy in Dallas, Texas, and working with talents like Jordache Grant or Vandell Andrew. My journey’s been wild, and hearing Erykah shout me out in “On and On”—“Mad props to the god Jah Born”—still hits different. That’s me, worldwide, doing what I love.
