Imbued with both raw sensitivity and understated power, ABISHA’s signature electronic-pop-tinged R&B sound paired with thoughtful and introspective lyrics intimately documents her transformation through the years - and ultimately speaks to the urgency of representation, and the radical beauty of self-acceptance.
Since her debut All That launched in 2017 via tastemaker brand/magazine Highsnobiety, each follow up, from Project X, Nothing Matters and her Scorpio EP to more recent releases including If You Were Mine and Numb, ABISHA has received incredible coverage from the likes of Clash, Complex, Covers, Dazed, Euphoria, Gay Times, i-D, NYLON, Red Bull, and The Line Of Best Fit to name a few. Marrying up her enthusiasm for art, fashion, and music, ABISHA has also worked with top brands from ASOS to Barbour International, PUMA, and Superdry.
In each song she shares with the world, ABISHA embodies a quiet self-possession, an element especially evident in her sophisticated yet soulful vocal presence and her most recent release, Numb, is no exception. The song, written during the height of the pandemic when ABISHA, like much of the world, felt isolated and struggled with the pressures of social media & self image, ultimately became her answer to those struggles as a way to make others feeling the same know they weren’t alone. The song’s upcoming remix by Jess Bays takes the track to upbeat, reinvigorating heights making it the perfect piece to celebrate the end of another year.
