Guimary Pacheco Saldaña, known by her artistic name Gigi Saldaña, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 26, 1996. Raised in Puerto Rico, Gigi draws deep inspiration from her Afro-Caribbean heritage, infusing her music with vibrant cultural flavors. Growing up in a musical household, her father was a professional salsa percussionist, and her mother, Miny Saldaña, was a Christian singer. Gigi's music stands out with its fresh urban afro-R&B sound. Her lyrics offer a unique and experiential perspective that transcends time, while the musical elements remain innovative and non-repetitive. Influenced by artists such as Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Jhené Aiko, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, and Trey Songz, Gigi creates a distinct blend of genres that captivates listeners in both Spanish and English. Gigi's music aims to make listeners feel healed, uplifted, and free, evoking a delicious sensation that mirrors her own feelings. As a singer-songwriter, her creative process involves connecting with the energy of the moment and space, using body language and onomatopoeic sounds to convey her vision to producers and engineers. As of 2023, Gigi was featured in the Netflix series “La Firma,” which included judges like Rauw Alejandro, Tainy, and Yandel. She has also begun collaborating with other artists, featuring on songs by Omar Courtz, Apolo, and LateNightJiggy. Gigi released her debut EP, "Flor De Verano," which has paved the way for her musical journey.
