Fusing the unlikely combination of Southern rap, rock, and country, the LACS created their own brand of hip-hop. Hailing from Baxley, Georgia, the duo of of rapper Clay Sharpe and singer/guitarist Brian King have a sound that incorporates Southern guitar riffs with booming beats and rhymes about life in the Dirty South.
The LACS made their debut in the early 2000s with "Midas Well Get Drunk" and "South on Fire", a pair of independent releases. In 2011 they signed to Colt Ford's Backroad label releasing 'Country Boy's Paradise' (contained RIAA certified gold single "Kickin' Up Mud"). In 2012, 190 Proof was released becoming their first album to break into the overall album charts. 'Keep It Redneck' appeared in 2013. In 2015, the duo released their 8th full-length, 'Outlaw in Me' (landed at #3 on both the country and rap album charts). In 2016 they released their LP 'Welcome to Dodge City' with Hard Target. Continuing with their tried-and-true formula, the ever-popular duo delivered their 6th LP, 'American Rebelution'.
In 2017, The LACs launched their own independent record label, Dirt Rock Empire, where they released their album 'Dirt Rock' which was in Billboards Top 25 Country Albums chart. The duo followed up with their second fully independent album, 'Rise and Shine' which had just as much success. Over the last three years The LACs have been focusing their releases around singles while putting their final touches on their newest album which will be set to release in 2023.
