“QARAQOOM” is a musical project that blends the ethnic sounds of Central Asia with modern electronic music, spanning genres from organic house and Afro house to progressive house and techno. Through our tracks, we showcase the vibrant musical palette of our culture, as we believe this heritage holds an immense array of beautiful tones and textures.
Before we began creating our own music, we spent a long time studying various styles, genres, and individual tracks. It wasn’t until we felt we had absorbed enough of the music we admired that we started crafting our own. The group was founded in 2020, during the lockdown at the height of the pandemic. This period saw the birth of our first tracks. The name “QARAQOOM” comes from the great desert at the heart of Central Asia. With this name, we wanted to capture everything we aim to represent: our land, our centuries-old history, our climate, the spirit and character of the people who live here, and, of course, the music of our culture.
We have big ambitions for the future. Today, we are artists on several labels: “Cafe de Anatolia”, “Serum Records”, “Enormous Chills”, “Afromatic Lab”, “Camel VIP”, “We Are Music”, and “QARAQOOM Records.”
