D'Yani, born Andre Chavanie McCormack, is a singer
songwriter from Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica. His
stage name D'Yani, is an inventive synthesis of his birth name
Chavanie, meant to portray creativity and uniqueness as an
artiste. A proud alumnus of the Wolmer’s Boys’ High School and
the Caribbean Maritime University, he now considers himself a
student of music.
As a musician, his style predominately showcases a fresh
approach to the genres of Reggae and Dancehall, occasionally
dabbling in open format productions. He draws musical
inspirations from a melange of talents such as Jackie Wilson,
Sizzla Kalonji and much more. Appreciating the way they often
communicate emotively with listeners.
So far, D’Yani has numerous performances under his belt, most
notably being Sting 2016 and Reggae Sumfest 2018. As a
soulful singer, he considers the stage his playground, constantly
displaying vocal agility in his use of riffs and runs.
With a tag line of “Yours Truly”, expect him to stay true to his
commitment, of delivering soulful and emotional conversation to
listeners, in his upcoming future projects.
