Simmy
Born Simphiwe Nhlangulela in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Simmy is one of the country’s most celebrated singer-songwriters, renowned for her ability to seamlessly blend Afro-House, Afro-Pop and soul into a sound that is both deeply rooted in African storytelling and universally resonant. Her music is heartfelt, timeless and unmistakably her own, capturing the beauty of everyday life through stories of love, hope, healing and human connection. A gifted songwriter from the age of twelve, Simmy’s passion for music laid the foundation for a career defined by authenticity and artistic excellence. After relocating to Johannesburg to pursue her studies, her path crossed with producer and longtime collaborator Sun-El Musician, culminating in her signing with EL World Music in 2017—a defining moment that marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey.
