HEMA NEGI KARASI An artist par excellence who has selflessly taken Garhwali culture and traditions on to the global stage. Hema is reputed folk singer who hails from a remote village Tukhinda in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Her journey is one of folklore and began when she was introduced to folk music by her mother at a tender age. It is pure passion that has motivated her to stand out among other folk artists by her unique style of singing and performing folk legends in traditional Jaagar form. Hema Negi Karasi has released 50+ albums and more than 100 songs so far along with traditional dance. She has been awarded by many societies in India and other the countries as well for her best performance towards Pahari culture. Hema’s skills and contribution has been recognised by Uttarakhand by conferring multiple accolades in the past two decades. Many countries have invited her to perform to apprise them of tradition and cultural heritage of the Devbhoomi.
