Vancouver based electronic duo, Carbon Mass, is a musical experience formed in 2016 by electronic music composer (Sina) and vocalist/guitarist (Tim), the two have been working ever since on refining their sound. Carbon Mass brings forth a sombre yet soothing musical tapestry. The songs are entrancing yet groovy and supplementary to the full-bodied, soundscapes created using a vibrant palette of synthesizers, drum machines and samplers. The compositions are perfectly suited to evoke the kind of uneasy mood that the ethereal vocals and droney guitars deserve. You can’t help but feel cautiously optimistic while listening to their work. It’s as if you’ve been down for so long but you know it’s all going to work out in the end.
