Left To Suffer
Left To Suffer built themselves from the dirt: from jail to house shows to touring with Dying Fetus and Sanguisugabogg, with no roadmap beyond their own wits. That struggle fuels the hunger, confrontation, and groove of their definitive mission statement, 2026’s Unwelcome Guest, an album full of swagger, attitude, and brutality. “We represent the regular guy,” says guitarist Peter Higgs. “The person who wasn’t born into money, with no silver spoon. None of us were given anything.” Formed in Atlanta in 2019, the band earned a reputation as sonic leaders of the resurgent deathcore movement with 'A Year of Suffering' (2020), 'Feral' (2023), and a run of singles, including “Lost in the Dark”. After discarding nearly two albums’ worth of songs, they deliver their clearest statement yet: eleven tracks of deathcore hostility, hardcore physicality, nu-metal bounce, hip-hop cadence, and emotional candor. The fury comes from real trauma and survival. The title track channels Higgs’ combat deployment as a military veteran, “STFU” fires back at online parasocial parasites, and “404” brings chant-heavy ATL pride. “We write genuine music,” says Barber. “We’re going to talk about what we’ve been through and how we feel.” Unwelcome Guest doesn’t tidy up that history or turn it into myth. It’s the sound of a band carrying it all forward, heavier, sharper, and more determined than ever.
